Before we all go off for the summer, try this last Mathematics Problem of the Week. By moving 2 of the edges, you can change these five squares into only four squares of the same size. How do you do it? (You do have to use the two edges that you moved as edges of the four squares.) NOTE: You can ssubmit your answer on paper or electonically. Fill out the boxes on the right and click the Submit box to send your solution to me directly. Or you can submit your solutions to The Math Guy in writing in the box in the MAIN OFFICE. In both cases be sure to include your name, homeroom number and an explanation of your solution - tell me why you know that your are right? |
